CONSIDER THE POSSIBILITIES: Planned Givings to Dear Alma Mater

Thank you for taking a moment to read this information on planned gifts to SCSU. On April 14, 2010 [South Carolina State University Night (Spring)], the SCSU VIce President Anthony Holloman provided thought-provoking information and ideas designed to help alumni and friends prepare for their family's future. South Carolina State University also hopes that perhaps we'll give consideration to including Dear Alma Mater in those estate plans.

While most people may think estate planning is only for the wealthy, please know that contrary to this popular belief, it isn't. Most estates will not be subject to estate tax but many estates will leave assets. And, these assets will be subject to other taxes. There are many perfectly sound ways to help pass along such assets to family, with results that you may not be aware, and to also include SC State University in this planning.

Alumni and Friends are encouraged to explore this type of giving. Consider the possiblities, then decide if this is right for you and your family. Contact SCSU Institutional Advancement to request more information.

If SC State is in your plans and you just haven't made the contact but would like to, you are invited to contact SCSU Institutional Advancement for more information.
