LIFT-A-BULLDOG SCHOLARSHIPS
This program has successfully ended for 2010.
How did this program work? Well, SCSU Head Football Coach "Buddy" Pough launched the Lift-A-Bulldog campaign at the 2010 Spring Garnet & Blue football game, March 27, 2010. Alumni and supporters were asked to support this endeavor to help each football player to attend summer school and summer conditioning. The fundraising campaign culminated on June 15, 2010. The asking was $1000 per player. This program had the same spirit (or greater) as the campaign to support the Marching 101 endeavor to attend the NCAA playoffs in 2009 but with one huge difference: There were more than 75 players on the squad, meaning more than $75,000 was the goal. While every donation counted, the goal was to raise the funds as soon as possible, in sets of $1000. Greater Columbia Chapter accepted the challenge and developed an approach for accepting every donation -big and small, with all proceeds going to the Lift-A-Bulldog program at SCSU. To all donors, THANK YOU! And, if you did not participate in this initiative, please know you can give to the University, 24/7/365!
