Download the 2009 brochure to get a feel for this event and to begin planning.
This event is organized by the SCSU Office of Admissions, Recruitment and Scholarships, in conjunction with the Departments of Student Life and Leadership, Athletics and ROTC. This is a special day designed to encourage elementary, middle and high school students to visit SC State University and to experience all that the University has to offer, while enjoying a fantastic football game. The Day offers an outstanding opportunity to experience the University's academic offerings, a campus tour, the ROTC Program and a glimpse of student life.
SUPPORT FROM THE GREATER COLUMBIA CHAPTER
The Greater Columbia Chapter sponsors participation of some 130 to 200 Middle School students in this event each year. The Chapter has worked with the below Middle Schools, donating (more than $1600 in 2009) to this effort, for football game tickets and tailgating. The middle schools and parents have provided chaperones and transportation.
- Hopkins Middle School, Hopkins, SC
- Southeast MIddle School, Horrel HIll, SC
- St. Andrews Middle School, Columbia, SC
- Summit Parkway Middle School, Columbia, SC
Alumni, parents, students, sponsors, and schools interested in this initiative should email the Student Recruitment Committee at recruitment@capitalcitybulldogs.com.
Pictured are past participants from Hopkins Middle School along with Principal Goler Collins (SCSU Alumnus).
